The rental conditions
Last updated on 6 September 2026
These conditions apply to the rental of Cangubox boxes and to the extras bought together with them. We have written them in plain language, because a contract that cannot be understood protects neither of us.
What you read here applies together with what you see in the booking form: dates, number of boxes and price are the ones you confirmed before paying, and you will find them in your customer area.
01Who we are and what we rent out
The Cangubox service is offered by Simone Ricucci, with registered office at Via Emilia Romagna 5, 20064 Gorgonzola (MI), Italia and VAT number 11621850962. For any communication the address is privacy@cangubox.com.
We rent out rigid reusable boxes, with the Dolly (the trolley) included in every rental, both with home delivery and if you come to the CanguPoint yourself, and we sell some packing materials. We do not do removals: we deliver the boxes, we collect them and in between you use them. The boxes and the Dolly remain our property for the whole duration of the rental: you use them, you do not buy them.
02Booking and payment
- The contract is concluded when the payment goes through. Before then there is no order: a booking left half-way closes on its own and we charge you nothing.
- Everything is paid in advance, by card, on Stripe's pages. We do not ask for deposits and we do not place holds on the card.
- The card you pay with does, however, stay registered with Stripe until 30 days after the end of the rental, then it is removed. In that period we can charge you for three things and nothing else: the boxes or the Dolly that are not returned, damage beyond normal use, and the days you keep the boxes past the agreed date, counted at the same daily rate as an extension. We write to you with how much and why before charging it. An extension, on the other hand, remains a separate payment that you make yourself.
- The price is the one shown at the time of confirmation, VAT included. We recalculate it ourselves on the server before taking payment: if something does not add up, the booking stops instead of going ahead with a wrong amount.
- At least 3 working days are needed between the booking and the delivery, and bookings cannot be made more than 120 days ahead.
03Delivery and collection
- Delivery and return are two separate choices: for each one you can go through the CanguPoint, free of charge, or have us make the trip. Each home leg has its own fee: you see it in the form before paying, and the one you accepted stays written in the order summary.
- You choose the day when you book. The time slot is agreed together before delivery.
- We deliver and collect only in the postcodes that the check on the site shows as covered. At the moment the service is available only if both the delivery address and the collection address of the Cangubox are within our active area. If the collection at the end of the rental has to take place at an address other than the delivery one, tell us which: it too has to be within the area.
- If something comes up on the agreed day, let us know as soon as possible: we do what we can to reschedule based on availability. If nobody is there at the time of delivery or collection, we have to come back, and the extra trip may have a cost that we tell you about before we get back on the road.
04Duration, extension and return
- The rental lasts for the period you chose, from a minimum of 2 weeks. The listed durations are 2 and 4 weeks; beyond that, you choose the return date yourself in the booking form, up to a maximum of 90 days.
- You can extend from the customer area: a minimum of 7 extra days, to be requested at least 3 working days before the end, and only if the boxes are not already booked by someone else on those days. The extension is paid separately.
- At the end the boxes must be returned empty and free of residue: we wash them between one rental and the next, but they must not come back with dirt that makes them unusable. Those who chose home collection leave them stacked where we can load them, with the Dolly beside them; those who picked them up at the CanguPoint bring them back in person to the same point.
- The rental is paid for the period chosen. You can return the boxes before the end date, but the days you do not use are not refunded.
- If the boxes are not back by the agreed date we contact you. A delay happens and is sorted out by talking; the extra days are paid at the same daily rate as an extension, and if the boxes do not come back at all, their value is charged to you. We tell you the amount beforehand.
05How they must be used
The boxes are sturdy, but they remain ours and must come back as they left, less normal wear.
- Respect the stated load capacity, 30 kg per box, and do not stack beyond what holds safely.
- No liquids that can spill, no hazardous substances, no materials that stain or leave odours.
- Do not pierce them, do not stick tape on them that leaves residue and do not write on them with permanent markers: the boxes must be able to go out clean again for whoever comes next.
- Do not lend them or sublet them to third parties: the contract is with you.
If a box comes back damaged beyond normal use, or is missing, we tell you together with the count of the boxes returned and we let you know the amount before charging it.
06Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you have fourteen days to change your mind, without having to explain why. The days are counted from the conclusion of the contract, that is, from the payment.
- To withdraw, just write to us at privacy@cangubox.com. No particular form is needed, as long as it is clear.
- If we have not yet delivered, we refund everything you paid, delivery fee included, within fourteen days of your communication and by the same means you paid with.
- If you asked for delivery to take place before the fourteen days have passed, the service has already begun: in that case we keep the part proportional to the rental days already used and the cost of the trip already made, and we refund the rest. Confirming a delivery date within the fourteen days counts as this request.
- Packing materials, if opened and used, cannot be returned.
07If something goes wrong
First of all write to us: almost everything is sorted out by talking, and a person replies. If that is not enough, the contract is governed by Italian law and, if you are a consumer, the competent court is that of the place where you live. You can also use the European platform for online dispute resolution.
How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy.
