The advantage isn't the plastic. It's that it comes back
A cardboard box does one move and then it's waste. A Cangubox does that move, goes back to the warehouse, gets checked and washed, and goes out again for someone else's move. That is the whole difference, and it isn't the material: it's how many times the same box comes back.

It isn't cardboard versus plastic. It's once versus many times
Every box, whatever it's made of, costs something to make: raw material, energy, a journey. The point isn't how much a box costs, but how many moves that cost is divided by.
A cardboard box
You buy it, assemble it, tape it, fill it, empty it. Then it's cardboard to carry downstairs. Everything it cost to produce stays on that single move, because there won't be a second one.
A Cangubox
It costs more to make, and that's true: rigid plastic starts off behind. But then it comes back, gets washed and goes out again, and that cost is divided by all the moves it will do. The more rounds it does, the more the comparison shifts.
That's why a Cangubox is rented rather than sold: a box bought and kept in the cellar does exactly the same single move as cardboard, and the extra plastic is no use to anyone. What makes the sums work is the return, not the material.
One box, one move after another
The return isn't the end of a rental: it's the start of the next one. Five steps, and the fifth is the first.
01
It arrives
We deliver it to your home or you collect it at the CanguPoint, already clean and ready to fill.
02
It does the move
It gets filled, closed without tape, stacked, moved on the Dolly. Then it gets emptied in the new home.
03
It comes back
At the end of the rental we come and collect it. Empty, it nests inside the others, and the stack waits for collection without getting in the way.
04
It gets checked and washed
Every return goes through checking and washing. Any box that can't be brought back to our standards leaves the cycle.
05
It goes out again
For someone else's move. And this is where the sums against cardboard start to turn the right way.

Facts, not estimates
These are things you can verify by looking at the product and the service, not calculations with an assumption inside.
It comes back
At the end of the rental we collect the boxes. Nothing is left to take apart, carry out to the street or dispose of: the move ends without leaving a pile.
It gets washed and goes out again
Every Cangubox that comes back is checked and washed before going out again. Any box that can't be brought back to our standards leaves the cycle instead of being put back into circulation.
No tape needed
The lid is built in and closes without tape. One roll fewer to buy for every move, and no strip of adhesive to peel off the cardboard before throwing it away.
Empty, they nest
Closed, they stack; empty and open, they nest inside each other. The stack waiting for collection takes up a fraction of the space, at home and in the van.

The sum we can do without assumptions
Every box in a kit is a cardboard box you don't buy, don't assemble and don't carry downstairs. Along with the tape to close it.

How many moves each box will do before leaving the cycle we don't write yet: it's measured on a fleet that has been going round for years, and ours has only just started.
The part you do
Three things, none of which is a sacrifice. They help the boxes go out again sooner and without extra steps.
Take the right kit
A box that leaves and comes back empty has made the trip for nothing. The configurator on the home page tells you how many to start from: four questions, no details to leave.
Extend only if you need to
Don't take the long package just to be safe: if you end up needing more days, you can extend the rental from the customer area up to 3 working days before the end date, in blocks of at least 7 days. A box sitting idle at home is no use to anyone, and returned on time it goes out again sooner.
Return them as you received them
Just empty them: the checking and washing is on us, every time. What helps is not sticking tape on them that leaves residue and not writing on them with permanent markers, so they go out again without going through reconditioning.
The move that leaves nothing to throw away
Choose how many boxes you need, and we take them back. That's the environmental part that depends on you, and it's all here.
